Application:

High-strength, flexible and permanently elastic bonding of e.g. different plastics, metals, glass, natural stone, and rubber materials, as well as for sealing seams and as casting compound (preliminary customer testing is absolutely necessary). Hybrid system of epoxy resins and silane-terminated polymers. Free of plasticisers, isocyanates, solvents and silicones.

Characteristics / Directions for Use:

Pasty compound which flows and spreads well. Self-curing adhesive system (not depending on air and moisture). Curing is bubble-free, no reaction shrinkage. Can be lacquered without pre-treatment. UV stability. The surfaces to be bonded have to be clean, dry and grease-free. Application is carried out using a 2-component cartridge with a static mixer (at least 18 to 24 elements). A suitable type of gun would be a squeezeout piston type for cartridges, which can be operated manually or by electronic controls. We do not recommend using guns operating with compressed air, since the air jet exerts uncontrolled pressure on both chambers, and this may prevent a homogenous mixing result. Larger quantities can also be mixed homogenously in a clean container and then applied with a toothed spatula within the pot life. In automatic application processes, the product can be applied from large containers (hobbock/drum) using a 2-component dosing and mixing unit. Our Application Technology Department and our Application Specialists will provide technical data to assist you in your choice of an appropriate product for your requirements. Please observe the information in the section “Remarks”. General bonding requirements The properties (e.g. surface tension, plasticiser content…) and the conditioning of the substrates, as well as the processing conditions (e.g. ambient temperature, humidity…) will influence the processes of joining and bonding. Customer tests under consideration of everyday production conditions are therefore absolutely necessary to define stable process parameters and to ensure that the product is fit for purpose. For best bonding results, the materials to be bonded should be free of dust, oil, and grease, and be dry. Ideally, the minimum temperature should be at 18 °C. Avoid draught.

Cleaning:

Before curing the prepolymer can be cleaned with a solvent-soaked rag for instance using Jowat® Thinner 401.30, after curing only mechanical removal (e.g. emery paper).

Storage:

The product should remain stored in properly closed original containers, dry and cool (15 – 25 °C). Do not transport at temperatures below +5 °C. For best-before date, please see container label. After the elapse of the best-before date, it is essential that you again verify that the product is fit for your intended application.
