Application:

Jowapur® 687.10 is a stable and fibre-reinforced, thixotropic one-component adhesive curing with wood moisture or ambient humidity. Adhesive for bonding soft wood species, windows, doors, construction elements, water-resistant particleboard, foam and insulating materials made of concrete, cork and coated cork, tiles, stone and many other substrates. Bonded larch wood is to be protected against direct contact with water.

Characteristics / Directions for Use:

Free of solvents and formaldehyde. Good adhesion to many substrates. Moisture-curing. High strength data. Meets the requirements according to EN 15425 in the following tests: EN 302-1 Adhesives for load-bearing timber structures – Determination of longitudinal tensile shear strength: glueline thickness: 0.1 mm, 0.5 mm, 1 mm, Storage sequence: A1 to A7 and storage at -40 °C. EN 302-2 Adhesives for load-bearing timber structures – Determination of resistance to delamination. Easy processing due to strong shear-thinning behaviour under stress. Standard application of the adhesive is by application as bead from the cartridge, spread with spatula as required. In case of non-absorbent substrates and wood with moisture content below 8 %, the adhesive film or the materials to be bonded are to be fogged. Please take care during pressing to prevent the press from gluing shut. Coat the press with a suitable Jowat® release agent for PU adhesives. We recommend using release paper. Bonding results depend on the material properties and processing conditions. Our Application Technology Department and our Application Specialists will provide technical data to assist you in your choice of an appropriate product for your requirements. Please observe the information in the section “Remarks”. General bonding requirements The properties (e.g. surface tension, plasticizer content…) and the conditioning of the substrates, as well as the processing conditions (e.g. ambient temperature, humidity…) will influence the processes of joining and bonding. Customer tests under consideration of everyday production conditions are therefore absolutely necessary to define stable process parameters and to ensure that the product is fit for purpose. For best bonding results, the materials to be bonded should be free of dust, oil, and grease, and be dry. Ideally, the minimum temperature should be at 18 °C. Avoid draft.

Cleaning:

Before curing the prepolymer can be cleaned with a solvent-soaked rag for instance using Jowat® Thinner 401.30 or with Jowat® PUR Cleaner 402.38 after curing only mechanical removal (e.g. emery paper).

Storage:

The product should remain stored in properly closed containers, cool and dry (15 – 25 °C). Do not transport at temperatures below +5 °C. For best-before date, please see container label. After the elapse of the best-before date, it is essential that you again verify that the product is fit for your intended application. After the elapse of the best-before date, it is essential that you again verify that the product is fit for your intended application.
